PRP Skin Rejuvenation in Hertfordshire

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) skin rejuvenation, also known as a vampire facial.

What is PRP skin rejuvenation?

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) skin rejuvenation, also known as a vampire facial, is an advanced and cutting-edge anti-ageing treatment in which your own blood is used to promote skin repair and restoration.

Combining microdermabrasion with the application of platelet-rich plasma, the process harnesses the blood’s healing abilities to reverse the effects of skin damage and ageing and give a more youthful appearance.

How does PRP skin rejuvenation work?

In PRP the client’s blood is drawn through venipuncture before being spun in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. Once this formula is extracted the client undergoes microneedling or microdermabrasion before PRPs are generously applied to the face, with the the microneedling process ensuring maximum impact of the platelets on your skin.

The growth capabilities of the platelets help to stimulate cell rejuvenation, repairing damaged tissues in the body and boosting skin cell recovery. This works by increasing collagen and elastin levels, making PRP therapy a powerful anti-ageing treatment with highly effective results.

Does it hurt?

While the name ‘vampire facial’ might sound a little intimidating the actual procedure is minimally invasive and generally painless. The only discomfort you may experience is following the treatment as a result of microneedling or microdermabrasion.

Is PRP skin rejuvenation safe?

When carried out by a medical professional in a clean environment this procedure is very safe. As PRP uses the client’s own blood there is minimal risk of complications.

How long is recovery time?

While you will be perfectly able to continue your day following your treatment, the microdermabrasion process means that you may come out of your appointment with some redness. At Aventus clinic we are as gentle as possible to prevent redness while still delivering the best final result, with your recovery time dependent on how intensive the microdermabrasion has been.

Because of this, you may prefer to set aside a couple of days for your skin to calm down. While use of suncream following your procedure is encouraged, make sure that you do not apply makeup to the skin where possible – this will help ensure a speedy recovery.
