What is lip filler?

Lip filler is a non-surgical treatment designed to give you more contoured, fuller lips. Our practitioner performs the procedure by injecting dermal fillers. This procedure is temporary, with the dermal filler naturally dissolving over time, and it can be fully reversible if one is not satisfied with the results.

Dermal fillers contain a hyaluronic acid (HA) substance—a carbohydrate naturally produced in our body—boosting the HA supply in the body to help stimulate collagen and elastin.

As a subtle yet effective solution, its purpose is to retain moisture and act as a natural moisturiser, giving you plump, natural lips. Additionally, it can be used to smooth the lines around the mouth.

What happens during a lip filler treatment?

Before the procedure, a numbing agent may be applied to ease discomfort; then, a professional injects the filler with a needle into the lips.

Each injection is personalised to achieve the best results for each client. While the procedure is quick and easy, it should always be done by a certified surgeon or dermatologist.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you are dealing with thin lips, want to add more volume, or have lost volume throughout the years, lip injections can help you add subtle or dramatic volume.

A lip filler treatment will enhance your appearance, but it’s crucial that you have reasonable expectations of the overall outcome.

The treatment lasts from 20 to 30 minutes. We may offer you a local anaesthetic beforehand, and then the practitioner will inject the filler in a series of small injections.

Common injection-related reactions like mild swelling, itching, bruising, temporary discolouration, redness, or numbness are to be expected. However, these symptoms can resolve spontaneously between a few hours to just a few days following treatment, depending on the patient.

During the procedure itself, you may experience some mild discomfort. You might feel small pinches when the filler is injected; still, it is only temporary. We try to reduce any pain by ensuring an anaesthetic cream is applied before treatment.

The results of lip injections are long-lasting but not permanent. On average, each treatment lasts six months. The length of time it lasts is determined by various factors, including the client’s skin type, diet, and age. Over time, your lips can be altered in order to maintain the desired appearance.
