Nordlys® Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Doctor-led laser clinic for pigmentation and redness

Laser Treatment for Vascular & Pigment Concerns

Persistent redness, flushing, visible thread veins and uneven pigmentation can affect both skin clarity and confidence. Conditions such as rosacea and sun damage develop when blood vessels become enlarged or excess pigment accumulates within the skin.

At Aventus Clinic, your skin is assessed in detail to determine whether vascular (redness-based) or pigmented concerns are present, and to identify the most appropriate treatment parameters.

We use Nordlys® by Candela Medical, an advanced FDA-cleared laser and light platform that combines Selective Waveband Technology (SWT® IPL) with precision laser modalities. This allows targeted treatment of unwanted blood vessels and pigment while minimising impact on surrounding healthy tissue. Treatment stimulates gradual clearance of redness and pigmentation, helping restore a clearer, more even skin tone with minimal downtime.

Dr Suhail Alam - Medical Director

Nordlys is an advanced laser and light platform designed to treat pigmentation and vascular concerns with precision. It combines Selective Waveband Technology (SWT®) IPL, non-ablative fractional lasers, and a 1064nm Nd:YAG laser to target specific structures within the skin. The light energy is absorbed by melanin (pigment) and haemoglobin (blood vessels), helping to reduce sun damage, redness and visible veins, while fractional laser energy stimulates collagen and supports skin renewal — all with minimal impact on surrounding tissue.

Nordlys may be appropriate for individuals experiencing:

  • Persistent facial redness or rosacea
  • Thread veins (telangiectasia)
  • Sun damage and age spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Mild to moderate textural concerns
  • Early signs of skin ageing

Suitability depends on your skin type, medical history and treatment goals, which are assessed during consultation.

Your appointment begins with a detailed skin assessment to determine the most appropriate handpiece and settings.

The skin is cleansed and protective eyewear is provided. A cooling gel may be applied when using IPL technology.

During treatment, you may feel brief pulses of warmth or a light snapping sensation against the skin. Fractional laser treatments can produce a warming or prickling sensation. Most patients find the procedure tolerable, and topical anaesthetic can be used when clinically indicated.

Treatment sessions typically last between 20 and 45 minutes, depending on the area treated and the technology used.

Nordlys is a non-ablative treatment platform, meaning downtime is generally minimal.

You may experience temporary redness, mild swelling or warmth immediately after treatment. Pigmented areas can temporarily darken before gradually flaking away as the skin renews.

Most patients return to normal daily activities shortly after their session. However, it is important to:

  • Avoid direct sun exposure
  • Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily
  • Avoid active skincare ingredients such as retinoids or exfoliating acids for several days
  • Avoid excessive heat (sauna, hot showers, intense exercise) for 24–48 hours

Your clinician will provide tailored aftercare guidance to support safe healing and optimal results.

Most concerns require a course of treatments, often between three and six sessions. The exact number depends on the condition being treated and individual response.

Downtime is generally minimal. Mild redness or swelling may occur and usually settles within hours to a few days.

Conditions Treated

What skin conditions can Nordlys® treat?

Nordlys is suitable for people who would like to improve visible redness, pigmentation or early signs of skin ageing. It uses advanced light and laser technology to target specific concerns within the skin while leaving the surrounding area largely unaffected.

Rosacea and Facial Redness

Nordlys can help reduce persistent redness and flushing by targeting the small blood vessels beneath the skin. Over time, this may improve overall skin clarity and reduce visible thread veins.

Pigmentation and Sun Damage

The light energy is absorbed by excess pigment in the skin. This helps fade sun spots, age spots and uneven patches of pigmentation, leading to a more even-looking complexion.

Fine Lines and Early Signs of Ageing

Certain Nordlys laser settings stimulate natural collagen production. Collagen is a protein that keeps skin firm and smooth, so increasing it can help soften fine lines and improve overall texture.

Acne and Post-Acne Marks

Nordlys may help calm redness linked to acne and support skin renewal. It can also improve mild to moderate uneven texture left behind after breakouts.

Broken Capillaries and Thread Veins

The treatment targets visible blood vessels, helping them gradually fade and reducing redness in the treated area.

Enlarged Pores and Uneven Texture

By encouraging collagen renewal, Nordlys can help refine the skin’s surface, making pores appear smaller and the skin look smoother.
